Scott Daniels, MD, MHA draws on a background of Applied Mathematics, Quality Improvement, and most of a decade practicing inpatient psychiatry from rural hospitals to downtown academic centers and state hospitals. He is a former department chair and medical director.

Dr. Daniels' first article proposed a purinergic basis for bipolar disorder, uniting mechanisms of lithium, valproate, and ECT, and explaining therapeutic crossover with epilepsy, HPA impact on these diseases, and a mechanism for antibiotic-induced mania PMID 37820933.
